Milovice Subterranean Complex • Declassified Archive

Chronicle of Creation & Secrecy (1968–1991)

1968 • Construction

Warsaw Pact Strategic Garrison

The facility was established in the autumn of 1968 immediately following the Warsaw Pact intervention in Czechoslovakia. Officially masked as an expansion of the Central Group of Forces (CGF) air hub and military airfield garrison.

1968–1990 • Operational Role

Command Post & Special Munitions Storage

Sector "Javor-17" was engineered as a fortified command-and-control computation center and auxiliary warhead vault. Burrowed up to 45 meters deep into solid granite strata, it featured autonomous CBRN air-scrubbing systems, industrial diesel generation halls, and a narrow-gauge subterranean rail network connecting the Boží Dar military settlement directly to reinforced aircraft caponiers.

1991 • Troop Withdrawal

The Cold Abandonment

During the hasty evacuation of Soviet troops in 1991, heavy blast doors on lower horizons were gas-welded shut, drainage pumps severed from the grid, and technical logbooks burned on the parade ground. For over two decades, the site remained officially listed as the "Abandoned Milovice Proving Grounds," keeping scavengers strictly confined to the upper flooded levels.

2014 • Corporate Acquisition

Prometheus Holding / Aegis Corp Asset Transfer

In 2014, Swiss-Austrian investment firm Prometheus Holding (a clandestine shell subsidiary of biopharmaceutical conglomerate Aegis Corp.) purchased 140 hectares of the proving ground under the pretext of constructing a green-energy datacenter and sovereign research park.

2016–2025 • Deep Retrofit

BSL-4 Cleanroom & Subterranean Containment

Surface Perimeter (Boží Dar): Three residential panel buildings were renovated for technical staff, accompanied by active optoelectronic perimeter surveillance and covered heavy transport terminals.

Subterranean Sector (Javor-17): The flooded Soviet casemates were drained, reinforced with shotcrete composite shielding, and paneled with antibacterial containment walls. The cavernous granite vaults were refitted with BSL-4 biohazard cleanrooms, cryogenic tanks, and closed-loop hydroponic life support systems.

2026 • Infrastructure Status

Sovereign Off-Grid Isolation

The facility achieved complete energetic independence via underground gas-turbine dynamos and a classified deep geothermal borehole omitted from all municipal land registers in the Central Bohemian Region.
